International Office

Polnep students took a part in Shell-Echo Martahon 2011 in Sepang Malaysia and gained no 19 Rangking out of 95 participants. At the fuel efficiency contest, Polnep became one of five contestants from Indonesia and the only participants from Indonesian Polytechnics. The Mechanical Engineering students brought their vehicle which has aerodinamic design called Khatulistiwa Line . The vehicle which is expected to have fuel comsumption of 1500 KM/ Liter was contested in Prototype Class, the class for futuristic vehicles prototypes focusing on maximizing fuel efficiency.

Chevening Scholarship which is funded by British Goverment and administered by British Council has been now open for 2012/2013 application. The scholarsip has awarded more than 1000 scholarship and fellowsip to Indonesia since 1984. In order to obtain information in managing International Office institute in higher education, International Office of Pontianak State Polytechnic (Polnep) visited three prestigious universities in Indonesia on 28 November – 2 December 2011 . Those Universities were choosen as they have outstanding international reputation and are  recognized  through their  active engagement in international activities.

The journey was started at Universitas Indonesia (UI)on 28 November where the coordinator of Polnep’s International Office was warmly welcomed by the head deputy of International Office of UI to have a discussion about International Office and its functions. On the next day, in Institute Teknologi Bandung (ITB), the same discussion which gave more emphasize on the international students matters was done with the head deputy of International Relation Office (IRO) of ITB. In Universitas Gajah Mada (UGM), on 1-2 December 2011, a more extensive and thorough discussion on International Office functions and its management which was packed in five sessions was carried out, led by the team of Office of International Affair of UGM.
