International Office of Pontianak State Polytechnic (Polnep) was officially established on 2 october 2011 as Polnep’s attempt to actively take a part in heighthened global competition in education. Through this unit, Polnep is ready to vigorously pursue its grand vision to be one of the best vocational education institutions in both national and international level. In the process of achieving the vision, the International Office will play its role as a means to promote the internationalization of Polnep and to encourage global engagement through its substantial support in many aspects of mutual cooperation with overseas universities. The cooperation may include joint research, students & staff exchange and international joint programs.
Of the same importance, as the opening international classes is polnep’s next development target, this office will also provide support for international students who have intention to study in Polnep. The support includes expert guidance and information about programs in Polnep, immigration status, living in Pontianak and other support to make the prospective students comfortably enjoy their stay In Pontianak.
Similarly, the International Office also serves as one of the sources for Polnep’s students and staff to acquire information about overseas study opportunities as well as exchange programs offered by either overseas universities or other institutions.
Finally, the establishment of this office is expected to lend impetus to the endeavor to introduce Polnep to the world and consequently allows international knowledge transfer between Polnep and overseas universities and other institutions which, eventually, enables the two parties to reap benefit from the cooperation.
